Employers look for people with specific skills or areas of their work that they are an expert in; this is because it is helpful within the workplace to have an expert in each area. If you have an area of expertise they need, this is also a major bonus. These are all attributes that an employer wants to see in a person as it suggests they will get a great work output from them.

Employers like it when a person stands out for all the right reasons; they could have interviewed 10 people already that were basically carbon copies of one another. By standing out and not being afraid to be different, you will be memorable, but the interviewer will likely consider that you could be a good new fresh face for the company. Employers interview many people and want somebody that is unapologetically themselves; this shows that they are comfortable with the skin they are in and are very self-assured; these are both positive attributes to have on their working team.
